SmartFeed™ X10 is the new automatic feeder available on the 7000i™ high speed banknote sorting solution from CPS. Designed for large cash processing operations, the feeder can hold up to 10,000 banknotes that are automatically conveyed into the 7000i™. The 7000i™ is the evolution of the established CPS high-speed sorter the 7000™, that has been in the market for a number of years. SmartFeed™ X10 is one of the brand new capabilities available on the 7000i™.

SmartFeed™ X10 was officially launched at the Banknote Conference in May 2018. Since its launch 4 organisations have purhcased SmartFeed™ X10. We are not able to name these organisations.
The SmartFeed™ X10 provides automation for high volume cash processing operations, feeding 10,000 banknotes in just 5 minutes.
Banknotes are loaded in stacks of up to 2,500 banknotes, which are automatically carried via conveyor to the next available compartment, enabling the operator to load another 2,500 banknotes and so on, until the four compartments are full. The buffering of the banknotes frees up the operator to complete other tasks while the notes are being fed into the machine. This reduces the number of operators required to run the machine.
As well as being available as an option on the new 7000i™, any existing 7000™ sorter can be upgraded with SmartFeed™ X10, providing a cost effective way of increasing feeder capacity without having to purchase a new machine. Its compact size means customers can more than double their feeder capacity without having to re-configure the layout of their processing environment.

Increased efficiency, effectiveness or environmental protection
The SmartFeed™ X10 can be loaded with up to 10,000 banknotes at a speed of 2,000npm (120,000 banknotes/hour) maximising productivity for high-volume operations. The buffering of the banknotes frees up the operator to complete other tasks while the notes are being fed into the machine. This also enables the machine to run with just one operator, reducing manpower.
The dual paddle design enables a batch to be interrupted to re-run rejects. The operator can pause the system at any time at the touch of a button. System automatically places itself in a position to enable the operator to open the cover and place rejects directly on to the feed paddle for re-processing, allowing rejects to be re-run without affecting the batch or interrupting the running of the machine.
Clear covers allow the operator to see inside the feeder. The loading area is brightly lit by bi-coloured LED lights which clearly indicate a status when the operator can load banknotes. Should the operator’s hand enter the load space while the feeder is in operation, it will automatically pause operation because of an infra-red light curtain providing absolute assurances to operator safety, and is re-started once their hand is removed.
The ergonomic design makes loading banknotes very easy, eliminating operator fatigue.
The feeder can be operated in a standing or seated position for operator comfort.
