The Central Bank of Barbados was established in May 1972 by the Government of Barbados to advance the pace of economic development in the country. Today the Bank is both and adviser to Government and the island’s main financial regulator. As such, the Bank has two main objectives: maintaining the value of Barbados’ currency and promoting financial stability.
