Ron Arends joined CBN in 1994 as President and Chief Operating Officer. He was appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2004. He has overall responsibility for the management and operations of CBN and its subsidiaries.
Ron began his business career with 19 years of service with Canada Wire and Cable holding the position of Executive Vice-President when he left in 1988. From 1989 through 1994 he worked for Tremco Inc., a subsidiary of B.F. Goodrich Company, where he rose to the position of President.
Ron is a Professional Engineer and member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Masters of Business Administration. He has also completed the Advanced Management Program of the Harvard Business School.
Prior to entering the business world, Ron was a professional football player. For five years he played the position of defensive half-back with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League.
