IACA is happy to announce the opening for Nominations for its Excellence in Currency: 2026 Coin Awards. Nominations will be accepted starting May 15 through July 31, 2026.
IACA’s Excellence in Currency: Coin Awards was introduced promote and recognize excellence in coin production, processing, management, distribution, and related activities of the coin community. Projects of any issuer of coins, central bank or ministry of finance, mint or other supplier of products, services or systems for coin production, distribution, processing or management are eligible for nomination in the appropriate categories. Self-nomination by such organisations is allowable and encouraged. Organizations do not need to be IACA members to make a nomination or win an award.
The categories are as follows:
- Best New Circulating Commemorative Coin
- Best New Coin Product, Process, or Manufacturing Innovation
- Best New Coin Re-circulation/ Distribution Innovation or Initiative
All Finalists will be awarded and the Winner announced at the Coin Conference in Budapest, Hungary, September 28-30, 2026. Visit the website to read more and register – www.coinconference.com

Nominations in all categories are for projects issued/completed/implemented between August 6, 2024 and July 31, 2026. All projects must have been issued or completed during this time period.
NOTE: Nominations must be submitted though IACA’s awards site. The link will be provided on May 15. Check back here to access.
A BIG thank you to our Judging Committee. They have the important job to review all nominations and score based on criteria elements. Their combined score determine our Finalists. Then the Finalist projects go to the IACA voting delegates who decide the winner based on which project has the most votes. The details of judging process is included in the Guidelines and Criteria document linked above.
